150th Anniversary Celebration Continues
A task force has continued to plan
the 150th Anniversary Celebration of our Estherville United
Methodist Church. What an occasion to celebrate! God has truly
blessed our church from the humble beginnings of gatherings in
the home of Robert and Esther Ridley to the church building that
we now occupy for meetings, fellowship events, celebrations and
worship.
As we look ahead to the future, we
will celebrate the past by holding special services monthly
beginning April through September. On the last Sunday of each
month, we will be celebrating with a guest speaker that has
served us or been associated with our church family, special
music "alumni" from our church and a fellowship gathering
following worship of food, friends and fun.
Mark your calendar for Sunday,
June28th, as we celebrate with a DVD presentation of our Chancel
choir, bell Choir, organist and musicians. Rev. Tom Balm will be featured as the guest speaker.
He served as our pastor from 1983-1990. Sarah Clague will give a musical
performance. Our Praise Team will be with us prior to worship
for a sing-along. Following worship we will have a "Picnic with
the Methodists" in the Fellowship Hall served by our Susanna
Wesley Sub-unit.
Invite your family and guests to
be part of this ongoing celebration and join the fun on
Sunday, June 28th as we celebrate where
God has led us in the past and rejoice in the future of our
church!!
